THERE’S A BRAND NEW COURSE AT DOGWOOD!
AND IT’S DESIGNED TO MAKE YOUR DOG WALKS BETTER
Scentventure is a new way to walk your dog! And to celebrate our summer fun programme, we’re launching a brand new Scentventure Environment course!
Scentventure Environment is all about making your walks easier and better: more fun, focused, adventurous. It’s climbing, balancing, crawling under, going around and over the top of Scentventure obstacles. It’s having fun and working together with your dog so they choose you over the many distractions out there.
Learn with a Scentventure Guide at Dogwood who will also show you how to take your new skills out on your regular walks for better calm and focus. With Scentventure Environment, the places you walk your dog no longer work against you - you’ll know how to make the environment work with you! Every day can be a Scentventure!

What dogs is Scentventure Environment suitable for?
Scentventure is fun for all ages, sizes, breeds and abilities. It’s safe so it’s suitable for puppies and keeps older dogs active. Dogs don’t need to be naturally athletic - diverse breeds from Tibetan Mastiffs, St Bernards and Newfoundlands to Chihuahuas, Toy Poodles and pretty much everyone in between has enjoyed Scentventure Environment. We’ve worked with 3 legged dogs, deaf dogs and partially blind dogs. It’s totally inclusive and suitable for complete beginners who have never participated in any sort of training before or those who are more experienced - we design the course to suit you.
It’s particularly beneficial for:
Dogs that lack confidence - Scentventure builds confidence and independence
Reactive or aggressive dogs - it’s 1-1 so dogs that need space don’t have to miss out on the fun
100mph easily distracted dogs will learn to slow down and focus
Dogs that lack focus - your dog will be listening to you and responding to your cues off lead so it’s great for controlling your dog from a distance - how does improved recall sound?
Anyone who feels they’ve lost some connection with their dog and want to boost the bond so their dog listens to them
What will you actually do?
We’ll introduce 2 or 3 new obstacles (we call these ‘Scentventure Stations’) every week and put them together into a fun, smooth-flowing Mission. You can take what you learn at the stations onto your everyday walks for better calm and focus - whereas the mission is pure fun! When you have fun with your dog and work together, your bond becomes supercharged and can withstand even the toughest of distractions.
Scentventure Stations
Scentventure Stations are welcome pauses on your walk. The activities you do there develop connection with your dog so it’s not just you on one end of the lead and them on the other, completely ignoring you.
They’re perfect for reducing pulling on the lead and reactivity, as well as building confidence and focus. Work together, build your partnership so your dog chooses to stay close to you. Think of Scentventure Stations as the means to create an umbilical cord of connection.
Missions
Combining several Scentventure Stations makes a Mission! Your dog will navigate a series of obstacles one after the other as you work together as a smooth flowing team.
Oh - and the Missions have a unique theme!
This summer, your Mission, should you choose to accept it . . .
